For Prai, photography is more than documentation. It is a way to protect memory, strengthen Indigenous identity, and create dialogue between worlds. His work reflects a perspective deeply rooted in traditional knowledge and in the understanding that nature, culture, and community are inseparable.

As a photographer with the Instituto Raoni, and as part of the Xingu+ Network Communicators and the Beture Collective, Prai documents the realities of Indigenous life in the Amazon: ceremonies, daily life, territorial protection, leadership, resistance, and the connection between people and forest.

His images carry both cultural and political meaning. They show not only the beauty of Mẽbêngôkre life, but also the ongoing struggle to defend Indigenous territories and preserve ancestral knowledge for future generations.

Through Indigenous communication, Prai Kayapó uses photography as a tool of resistance, memory, and storytelling — ensuring that Indigenous peoples can represent themselves through their own voices and perspectives.
